The art of the sword online

If you are looking for something as close to Alice on the Border as possible, Sword Art Online is the right choice. This anime suffers from some of the usual tropics one would expect, but for the most part it makes for a really enjoyable – and very popular – series.

In its simplest form, Sword Art Online takes place in 2022, when thousands of people are trapped in a new virtual MMORPG. Among them is the lone wolf, Kirito. Determined to try to escape, he works hard to try to win the game before beating him afterwards.

The real world is pretty well organized and the constant twists and turns in every season make things exciting and unpredictable. But where the show is less original, is that Kirito himself leans towards the dominant Gary Stu. But if there’s enough meat in that anime to make it worth looking at.

Convergence – Sci-Fi and Toe Drama

The first Brazilian Netflix series, with a dystopian future and a hunger atmosphere, could be misinterpreted as a simple imitation of what happened before.

However, 3% is not a small amount. With a four-hour story, there is no danger that the series will remain unfinished, and the mix of mystery and fantasy elements is worth watching.

The story unfolds in a dystopian vision of Brazil of the future, with a world divided between those who have it and those who do not. These 3% are among the lucky ones who are isolated from the devastated continent and live in paradise. The rest of the population lives in poverty and struggles to survive. Every year the contest starts with selecting 2 lucky winners to be part of this elite song. Except that they have to take on the challenge first.

With a rebellious force operating in the shadows and lots of interesting ideas about class differences, 3% tackles intriguing themes after a relatively lukewarm first season and makes a fairly entertaining watch.

Conventions – History and signs

At first glance, travelers can be regarded as another science-fiction series. After all, bringing people together to try to prevent the complete destruction of the world is not exactly the most original idea.

What distinguishes Travelers is the unique way in which he manages to weave his unique premise through a well-written plot and complex, credible characters.

The story unfolds 100 years later, when the survivors discover how to bring their consciousness back in time to the people of the 21st century. I can send you back to the beginning of the 21st century. The traveller wants to change the fateful path of mankind and combines mystery, action and excitement to make a big impact.

The series ended all three seasons with an epic finale that did just enough to close the story in style. But it also leaves the door open for a possible refill in the future.

resemblance – tension and every man for himself

When it comes to missed opportunities, no franchise comes close to The Purge. After a series of not very enthusiastic films, the franchise The Purge offers two seasons on the small screen to present a story worthy of its interesting premise.

While the first season reveals its full potential, the second season is actually a surprisingly exciting affair revolving around four different groups of people coming together to try and survive a night of cleansing; an event where all crimes are legal within 24 hours.

If you feel like something dramatic and exciting, given the anthological nature of this series, you should skip the first season altogether and go straight to the second.

W: Two worlds

Conventions – Parallel worlds

Armed with a creative postulate and supported by fantastic vibrations, W is a series whose strength lies in its unpredictability. W, to which this drama refers, is created by the collision of two worlds, the real world and an alternative universe within the webcartoon.

As the plot shifts to the fantasy world of the Internet, this Korean drama really begins to take shape and produce something completely original.

As the rules of this world are explained, the characters grow with each episode, and each chapter brings something new and interesting. It’s an unpredictable thrill ride from start to finish that keeps you in the dark until the end.

Although the last episodes are a bit hurried and hesitant, it is easy to forget that after such a big job, which has been done before. If you’re looking for one of the best science fiction movies, look no further.

Memories of the Alhambra

resemblance – sci-fi

Divided into 16 episodes, Memories of the Alhambra is an intriguing science fiction drama full of romance, mystery and action. Despite the excessive use of flashbacks and the inertia that floats over the first episodes of the series, this Korean drama is a real roller coaster ride.

Unfortunately, the roller coaster ends with a rather devastating finish that leaves many threads unsolved and a sense of frustration that prevents them from being seen again. Then why is he on that list?

To be honest, some parts of this drama are really exciting, with a Sword Art Online atmosphere throughout the story. The soundtrack is also unbelievable, and Hyun-bin fully appropriates his role.

Apart from the disappointing end, Memories of the Alhambra remains an entertaining outing to resume if you haven’t already done so.

Match: Symbols and history

Sense8 is one of the most ambitious (and expensive) projects of Netflix. Sense8 is an incredibly beautiful series to film all over the world, and some of the locations are simply stunning.

The story revolves around a group of people around the world who suddenly and inexplicably become spiritually connected. Together they are pushed into a multitude of dangers, forced to find a way to survive while being chased away by those who see them as a threat to the world order.

Sense8 retains its impressive cinematography and weaves 8 brain-teasing stories into one interesting story. There were many twists and turns along the way and it was such a fan favorite at the time that the abrupt end of season 2 forced Netflix to order one last feature film to close the story.

12 monkeys

Agreements – History and complex time travel

When it comes to underrated fiction, 12 Monkeys should be at the top of the list. This incredibly exciting series has completely outgrown his brother on the big screen and created something very special – and criminally neglected.

The story itself is relatively unchanged from the film. In the future, a virus will completely destroy humanity and a lonely time traveler will return to stop the plague that is destroying the Earth. Although it sounds simple in theory, 12 Monkeys quickly add layers of depth to an opponent seen in the dark.

After an entertaining and relatively predictable first season, 12 Monkeys changes the game and introduces a shadow group called the Army of 12 Monkeys. They also seem desperate to change the past, but for what purpose? What follows is an incredible journey, one of the best science fiction series ever made, and it ends with an eerily beautiful conclusion.

Conventions – Character

Another victim of the cancellation, Colony is a very promising science fiction series that is only partially investigated. The basic hypothesis is set in the near future with an animated Los Angeles on the brink of chaos. Amidst all this simmering tension, the family is forced to make difficult decisions to stay together and try to survive.

Although the series mainly takes place in science fiction, it is also one of those series that is really based on its dramatic character. Because it is a product of an American network, there are many family themes, but it perfectly matches the tone of the piece. With 3 seasons, Colony offers many twists and turns along the road, making it a series worth watching.

Similitude – Small scale surviving area

A small town in Kansas was left in the dark after seeing a mushroom cloud above Denver, Colorado. With radio broadcasts and many unanswered questions, this small town tries to understand what is going on – and how to survive.

Exciting, well written and surprisingly convincing, Jericho was a cultural change until it was cancelled unnoticed by the chains. The fans were so angry that 20 tons of peanuts were sent to the CBS offices to rebuild the show…. and it worked!

If the series works so well, it is partly because it exceeds expectations and goes beyond the simple starting point. Here, too, there are skilfully written themes, and this is supported by sympathetic and well-rounded characters.
